The City of Napa, CA plays host to one of the most historic and romantic getaways in Napa Valley, Churchill Manor. Originally built by Napa County’s elite, this 125-year-old mansion now caters to bed and breakfast guests; allowing them to experience the 19th century ambience that other hotels and lodging accommodations can only imitate. Located within walking distance of downtown Napa, this B&B inn offers excellent access to restaurants, wineries, tasting rooms, massage and spa services, and outdoor activities. The California Napa Valley wine regions of Saint Helena, Rutherford, Yountville, Oakville, and Calistoga are just minutes away.

Located on an acre of perfectly-landscaped gardens in the City of Napa, Churchill Manor is well located for your Wine Country getaway. Built in 1889, this landmark inn is located in the founding neighborhood for Napa’s elite and the flanking mansions provide the added sense of a forgotten era. It is an easy walk to the shops and restaurants in downtown Napa, across the Napa River pedestrian bridge. Within minutes, you can be touring the wineries on Highway 29, Silverado Trail, and COPIA’s Wine, Food & the Arts Center.
Churchill Manor's extensive front lawn areas are surrounded by tall privet hedges creating a welcome privacy to the whole yard. Along the hedge are flowering crabapple trees that transition nicely to the 100-year-old incense cedars and redwood trees. The yard itself is home to more than 55 varieties of tree roses and hundreds of Mediland roses, which are framed by boxwood hedges providing almost year-long color over much of the property. Overflowing pots of geraniums and annuals grace the front staircase and a formal fountain along the front walkway arises from a circle of miniature roses and seasonal annuals. The side gardens produce a varied texture of perennials and annuals, from coreopsis and daisies to petunias and begonias, dotting the landscape to create a canvas of color from April though October. Off season plantings of iris, daffodils, and cyclamen fill in the year's floral component.
Brian Jensen and Joanna Guidotti purchased Churchill Manor on New Year’s Eve 1987 and began the long process of preparing it to host guests from all over the world. Brian’s background as an engineer and general contractor has allowed him to renovate and upgrade much of the mansion himself. Using her background as a Bank of America Vice President and tax attorney, Joanna cut through the bureaucratic red tape to obtain all of the necessary permits, licensures, and certifications. Within six months, they were not only offering guest rooms but also weddings on the grounds. Since completing the renovation, Churchill Manor has hosted over 700 weddings and 70,000 event and overnight guests. The staff deserves much of the credit for the success; many have been at the B&B for over 10 years. While the restoration is complete, Brian can often be found “improving” on what he has already done and Joanna focuses on ensuring the guest experience lives up to the mansion’s 115-year reputation.
